What’s the best way to find reliable and compliant carriers efficiently?
That is the very question Cassandra Gaines asked herself many years ago when working as a trucking lawyer. As the Founder and CEO of Carrier Assure, a scoring software that leverages data to help you hire carriers with confidence, Cassandra cares deeply about and knows the industry needs.
Creating Community
“How I want to change the industry, is I want good carriers: good truckload carriers. They know their business. They know their vehicles. They know their D.O.T. performance. I want them to be illuminated.“
Cassandra was first inspired to create Carrier Assure after seeing how much time was saved with the carrier onboarding program RMIS. Suddenly, all those hours spent vetting and checking carriers and all those differing onboarding procedures from business to business were being automated to improve the quality of carrier selection and significantly cut down on the time to do so.
Carrier Assure was built to complement that, allowing carriers to be scored based on a variety of criteria based on data pulled directly from the FMCA. It was designed to simplify and streamline the process.

Disrupting Processes for Good
Shortly after the full launch of the service in 2022, Cassandra started receiving angry messages from furious carriers, who found themselves with bad grades on the system. These ranged from foul language to death threats against her and her family.
“When you blow up somebody’s spot and they have been, maybe, doing something they shouldn’t have been doing: of course they’re gonna react strongly.”
But a bad grade doesn’t mean you should write a carrier off. Instead, it indicated more vetting should be done, or the carrier could benefit from more experience or improving their safety training. It’s a starting point that gives drivers something to strive for and brokers a way to even the playing field.
