Make Your ELD Work for You: Gain a Competitive Edge with RMIS Brokers

What are you waiting for?
Make more money starting now.
You already know your electronic logging device (ELD) is an FMCSA requirement. But did you know it can also be the key to getting preferred access to better loads with more reputable brokers?
Truckstop will soon release the ELD connection feature in RMIS with carriers like you in mind. Brokers trust and prioritize carriers who take extra steps to prove their authority. With just a few simple steps, you have the option to connect your ELD when onboarding with a new RMIS broker, allowing you to build better working relationships from the start.
What data will brokers see if I connect my ELD? 1
When you connect your ELD, Truckstop’s RMIS brokers will be able to see your truck’s current location and the vehicle’s identifying information (such as truck number or DOT number). This visibility gives them confidence that your equipment is active and available, making it easier for them to match you with loads.
How can connecting my ELD benefit me?
Carriers who consent to connect their ELDs during RMIS onboarding will experience the following advantages:
- High-quality load prioritization – Brokers are more likely to trust and work with carriers who provide real-time visibility into truck location and availability, which can lead to more consistent and higher-paying freight.
- Faster booking and fewer check-ins – Sharing your ELD location can save time by reducing the need for constant status updates or check calls from brokers.
- Enhanced fraud protection – Not only do you get to prove yourself as a more reliable carrier, but you also get the added peace of mind that comes with working with an RMIS broker.
What if I choose not to connect my ELD?
No worries. You will not be restricted from onboarding with them; however, you may not enjoy the same benefits as those who opt in to the ELD connection. The control remains with you. Existing carriers can log into the carrier portal on RMIS and select “Update ELD Enrollment” any time to connect or disconnect your ELD.
Take Control of Your Reputation with Brokers
Truckstop is dedicated to fostering secure, transparent relationships between shippers, brokers, and carriers. The ELD connection gives carriers complete control and an opportunity to establish the legitimacy of their businesses from the very beginning.
If you have questions, email our RMIS support team at [email protected], call (888) 643-8174, or use the live chat feature on your website. For general questions, we recommend reaching out to the broker directly.
