How Truckstop’s AVA helps truck drivers make faster decisions on the road

On the road

with AVA

Find loads, check rates, and locate fuel and parking, all by voice.

Every load involves a string of decisions. Where to look. Whether the rate is worth it. Where to fuel up. Where to park before the clock runs out. Each one of those decisions has traditionally meant picking up the phone or pulling over to navigate a screen.

Truckstop’s AVA (Advanced Voice Assistant) is a hands-free assistant built for life behind the wheel. She rides along on every run, answering questions, finding loads, checking rates, and connecting drivers to brokers by voice, without the driver needing to look away from the road.

AVA is available on Truckstop Load Board Advanced and Pro accounts and lives inside the Truckstop Go app. Here are four decisions AVA supports on every run.

Finding your next load without touching your phone

Searching for a load the traditional way means navigating screens, filtering results, and reading through load details, all of which require attention a driver behind the wheel cannot safely give. The result is usually the same: pull over and lose time, or wait until the next stop.

AVA handles the search by voice while the truck keeps moving. Tell her where you are headed and she scans the live load board and reads back the best options. A driver can say something like “find me a load from Chicago to Dallas” and AVA responds with available freight from the live board without the driver needing to touch the screen.

If the first results are not quite right, AVA adjusts. Ask her to filter by trailer type, delivery window, or a different destination and she narrows the search. Ask “what flatbed loads are available near me?” or “show me loads heading toward Atlanta” and she comes back with options.

The back-and-forth works the way a conversation with a good dispatcher would, with AVA doing the searching while the driver stays focused on the road.

Evaluating whether a load is worth taking

A posted rate tells a driver what the broker wants to pay. It does not tell the driver whether that number reflects what the lane actually pays, how much leverage the driver has going into the negotiation, or whether fuel costs will eat into the margin. Without that context, the decision comes down to instinct rather than data.

Ask her “is this rate good?” and she reads back lane analytics out loud, including rate per mile, load-to-truck ratio, and current market conditions pulled from Truckstop’s live data. She factors in fuel cost estimates for the run as well, so the driver knows what the load is actually worth before picking up the phone.

When the driver is ready to move forward, AVA dials the broker directly. Say “book it” and she connects the call in seconds. The full load card and market data appear on screen during the call, so the driver goes into the conversation with the numbers already in front of them.

Choosing the best fuel stop on your route

Fuel costs add up fast, and the decision about where to stop comes up on nearly every run. Pulling up a separate fuel app, comparing prices, and cross-referencing the route takes screen time a driver on the highway cannot safely spare.

AVA finds nearby options and reads them back. Ask her “where is diesel near me?” and she pulls stations with current pricing from AtoB’s fuel network and tells the driver what is available without requiring the driver to open another app.

For drivers weighing a short detour against a lower price, AVA can factor fuel cost estimates into the load evaluation earlier in the process, so the math on a run is clearer before the load is even booked.

Locating available truck parking before your hours run out

Finding parking before hours of service limits expire is a real pressure point for drivers on long hauls. A U.S. Department of Transportation report found that 98% of drivers regularly experience problems finding safe parking. When a truck stop is full, a driver on a tight clock has limited time to find an alternative before they are required to stop.

AVA searches for parking by voice using real-time availability from Truck Parking Club’s network. Ask her “find me parking near my stop” and she comes back with available options in the area. Because the search happens by voice, a driver can ask AVA to start looking while still moving toward the destination rather than waiting until arrival to begin.

Get moving with AVA on your next run

Finding a load, evaluating the rate, planning a fuel stop, and locating parking come up on most runs. AVA rides along for all of it, answering questions and handling the search by voice so drivers spend less time pulled over and more time moving.

AVA is available on Load Board Advanced and Pro accounts inside the Truckstop Go app. An iOS home screen widget lets drivers pull her up in one tap without unlocking the phone.
