Giving back is a big deal for Amanda Bartron, and the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Idaho (RMHC) is especially important. As a young child, Truckstop.com sales manager Amanda had her own positive, personal experience with the Portland Ronald McDonald House.

Recently, Bartron led Truckstop’s SMB team in a volunteer effort at the Ronald McDonald House. Dividing into three teams, one group prepared grab-and-go breakfasts for the 20 residents; another tackled vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning bathrooms; the last team performed outdoor clean up.

The RMHC of Idaho helps families face the burden of their children’s illness together. While staying cost-free at the Ronald McDonald House, families enjoy home-cooked meals, access to laundry facilities, private bedrooms with bathrooms, play rooms, and passes to local recreational activities like the zoo, YMCA, Aquarium, and Discovery Center.

In between meeting families and hearing their stories (one family was there nine weeks with a preemie), the team brought down new, unboxed toys from the attic for the kids to enjoy.

“The Ronald McDonald House makes it super easy to help and there’s always a need,” Amanda said. “We are so pleased to help out such a great organization!”
